Logistics Officer

Reporting to:  Stores & Logistic Manager

​

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

To assist the Stores &Logistics Manager by closely monitoring Engineering & Maintenance (E&M) Department owned material, tools and equipment.

 

To manage the calibrate tools and testing equipment for E&M Department.

 

To assist the Logistics Manager in managing the centralized tools and equipment.

 

To assist the Logistics Manager by liaising with the procurement, finance, stores & other E&M sub-systems on issues related to material procurement & delivery.

 

To assist the Logistics Manager in forecasting the required material for maintaining the CHSR asset.

 

To provide inventory data and prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports for the internal & external clients with regards to material, tools and equipment.

 

To monitor the usage & planned maintenance of Engineering & Maintenance hired vehicles.

 

To ensure the maintenance of the Engineering & Maintenance hired plant is completed on time.

 

To assist the Logistics Manager by implementing processes to support Engineering & Maintenance contractors that have established service level agreements with CHSR.

 

To assist the Logistics Manager by coordinating interface work, and liaising with the central planning and rostering teams to address the issues that affect all sub-system teams within E&M.

 

To assist the E&M Sections to transport materials and equipment to worksites.

 

Perform shift and emergency duties when required.

 

Perform and carry out other duties as instructed / directed by the Stores &Logistics Manager and the Head of Production

Job Qualification:

​

Knowledge:

​

Ideally a degree holder or higher diploma of post-secondary education in mechanical or electrical Engineering discipline

​

Skills:

​

Ability to prepare engineering data analysis, reporting, cost estimation, maintenance and testing procedures, equipment specifications, method statements, risk assessments and drawings is preferable;

 

Possess good communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and work productively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment;

 

Strong organizational skills, detail oriented, and the ability to handle multiple priorities;

 

Possess strong PC skills including proficiency with MS Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point applications and ability to learn new software based applications;

​

Experience:

​

A minimum of 2 years, preferably 4 years’ experience in engineering maintenance or construction with a good technical understanding of complex engineering systems. Some experience in planning, preparing procedures & instructions as required;

 

General understanding of all aspects of safety issues related to engineering projects.

​

Education:

​

Post Graduate in Business Administration or equivalent
